SUMMER VACATION IN THE BLACK HILLS
Summer vacations are a great way to reconnect
with family and see the amazing world we read in books or
see on TV. The most important thing to remember is the comfort
of your family and choosing a spot that will keep your
family happy from beginning to end. The way to start a summer
vacation is by choosing a starting destination that is comfortable
and centered to all the locations you are going to see.
Edelweiss Mountain Lodging is a great starting for
your next family vacation. Edelweiss Mountain Lodging
is nestled in the heart of the Black
Hills, located two miles south from Lake Pactola.
A summer vacation in the black hills offers
an unlimited supply of natural beauty, recreational
activities, family fun and site seeing. Start
the summer vacation in the Black hills by spending a few
days in the southern area. You can choose from many sites
such as; Mount
Rushmore, Crazy
Horse, Custer
State Park, Harney
Peak, Mammoth
Site, and Wind
Cave National Park. These are just a few places to see
in the southern area of the Black Hills. Make your way back
to Edelweiss
Mountain Lodging, stop in downtown Hill City to
visit the many art
galleries available. On your way out stop at the Prairie
Berry Winery where they offer over 15 grape, fruit and
honey wines to taste and purchase. Come back to your cabin
at Edelweiss Mountain and unwind, relax, sit in your
hot tub and take in the beautiful view of the Black Hills
from your secluded cabin.
In the morning, feeling refreshed and relaxed,
start by taking a short hike near your cabin or get the
wheels turning and head toward the northern part of your
summer vacation. There are many sites to see in the Northern
area such as; Spearfish
Canyon, Deadwood
and all of its history, and Sturgis
Motorcycle Museum is just the start. From there it is
only a few hours drive to Devils
Tower in Wyoming. After visiting the Northern area of
the Black Hills on your summer vacation take a day to just
relax on Lake
Pactola or relax at your cabin because your next adventure
is a day away.
The Eastern part of the Black Hills consist
of the Badlands,
dating from 28-37 million years old, the Journey
Museum and Bear
country are only the start of the sites to see in the
eastern part of the Black Hills. End the night with an authentic
chuck wagon supper show before returning to your cabin
at Edelweiss Mountain. No matter if you are looking for
