We are only 25 minutes away from Mount Rushmore, yet only 1 hour away from Deadwood, where Wild Bill Hickok was assassinated, and lies buried next to long time companion, Calamity Jane. Custer State Park is just down the road a little farther than Mount Rushmore, where you can spend the day enjoying the breath-taking splendor of the Black Hills.
TO GET TO EDELWEISS MOUNTAIN LODGING OFFICE FROM INTERSTATE 90
Take Exit 57 (Make sure you are in the right lane). Follow that down to the first stop light. Turn Right.
Follow the signs for HWY 44 West.
About 15 miles on the west side of Rapid City you will come to a T-Junction, which is HWY 385. Turn Left and go 5 miles. This will take you right over the Pactola Lake Reservoir.
About 2 mile past that, watch closely on the right side for a sign that says, "Black Forest Inn Bed and Breakfast". Turn Right.
Take the first Left, between the two white "Welcome" pillars.
Take the driveway on your right to our Office. You will see our "Edelweiss Mountain Lodging" signs.
